F-22 Raptor
The F-22 is a single-seat, twin engine, fifth-generation supermaneuverable fighter jet that uses stealth technology. With its combination of stealth, speed, agility, precision and situational awareness, combined with air-to-air and air-to-ground combat capabilities, it is regarded as one of the best overall modern fighters in the world. In 1981, due to emerging worldwide threats, the US Air Force developed a requirement for a next generation air superiority fighter to replace the F-15 and F-16. The F-22 was developed within this Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) program.
